The Coordinator works with and supports the Strategic Sourcing Manager by providing general administrative support in the area of purchasing for waste and recycling services and vendor management to ensure success for our Business Development and Account Managers’ to service our customers. We are looking for one person either in Richmond, Calgary or Toronto.

Key Responsibilities

Work with service providers and obtain preferential pricing to maximize profitability for “one off” locations that do not fall into market areas where Master Services Agreement exist.
Review temporary service pricing by market area and work towards consolidating purchasing for all temporary services
Assist in the monthly review of all rebate details by vendor and work towards a formal analysis and reporting structure by market area and by commodity type.
Assist with quarterly purchase cost review to ensure maximum accuracy of purchase information in ERP.
Ensure monthly review of Vendor Expiry date to ensure all expiry dates are current and to also identify and action expiring contracts by drafting and sending required notices within specified time frame for compliance.
General vendor communication as required
Prepare “short form RS Agreement”, for Single locations
Assist with major procurement/RFP activities by verifying current services and costs against hauler information and invoices
Responsible for ensuring the confirmation of purchase costs with service providers once new agreements are signed to ensure accuracy on invoicing.
Responsible for communication to all service providers on the installation/removal of monitoring equipment and ensure cooperation from service providers on the installs.
Assist with the management of the Vendor Compliance program (eg. Complyworks) to ensure service provider provide the required compliance documentation.

Work with SSM and other departments to standardize the RS communication with service providers.

Provide general reports from ERP on service provider performance, invoicing and cost analysis as required, report on these KPIs to management team.

Identify areas for process improvement.

Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors through efficient, timely communications.

Other duties as required.


Education: High School required, minimum 5 years office experience

Technical: Strong MS Excel skills, MS Office, and Dynamics NAV/CRM is preferred

Strong analytical skills

Able to review and analyze purchase costs

Critical thinking skills and good judgment

Ability to work independently but also succeed in a team environment

Demonstrated interpersonal skills in establishing cooperative working relationships both internally and externally

Strong time management skills

Strong attention to detail
Succeed in a multi-task environment and can prioritize
Excellent listening skills

A home office will be set up for you. Must be able to travel to Vancouver for one week for training, company paid.
