About The Opportunity:
As a Plants Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for power engineering and plumbing related maintenance at water pump stations, sanitary sewer pump stations, wastewater treatment plant, and District Energy sites. In the course of your day you will be challenged with the maintenance, repair, alteration, and installation tasks for plant/energy as well as energy transfer stations, boilers and cooling systems at other city facilities.
About Your Background:
Along with Grade 12, you have a valid Inter-Provincial Plumbing Qualification or a B.C Trades Qualification for Plumbing. Certification. Ideally you have a valid 5th Class or higher Power Engineer's Certificate or must achieve the 5th Class or higher Power Engineer's Certificate within 12 months of hire. Endorsements in electrical, refrigeration, gas fitting and/or HVAC systems are considered assets. You also have a minimum of three years' experience as a power engineer as well two years as a journeyman plumber working in commercial or industrial buildings. A valid, full privilege Class 5 Driver's License (or out of province equivalent) is required. As a condition of employment, the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a clear RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status as well as additional security clearance to permit access to sensitive buildings with various security requirements.
