Overall Responsibilities::
Brewing beer that is consistent with the company’s standards and quality.

Key Performance Indicators: :
Quality of beer produced, clean equipment, health and safety record, team interaction.

  • Operate the Brewhouse:
  • Handling raw materials; malt delivery and transport monitoring, hops dosage
  • Ensure overall quality of cast wort; follow the recipe & procedures, take regular samples and measurements (gravity, pH,), apply best practices for all process steps
  • Main fermentation management:
  • Control fermentation profile; temperature, natural carbonation, regular gravity measurement
  • Ensure CIP & sanitation in fermenters is completed according to schedule
  • Operate the filter:
  • Apply best practices for start-up procedure and manage effective dosing rates of the body feed: monitor turbidity, CO2 content, DO, temperature; measure CO2/DO content in BBT’s
  • Replace, handle and test filter cartridges
  • Measure CO2/DO content in ageing tanks
  • Yeast management; harvesting, pitching, utilities monitoring, brewing water usage, cleaning water usage, cooling system
  • Ensure Brewhouse/Cellar CIP & sanitation is completed according to schedule
  • Record and maintain accurate records
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of SOP’s
  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations
  • Working as part of a team, regular and effective communication
Experience and qualifications::
  • Previous experience in brewery or degree/diploma in a relevant field is an asset
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Physically fit as part of work is standing, climbing stairs/ladder, cleaning and lifting/moving products; often in hot environment
  • Available to work various shifts, with some evenings and weekends
