Job Purpose

This position provides MoverOne International (MOI) and independent companies in Canada, US and globally with timely, competitive shipping rate quotations in a professional manner. Manage all secured bookings allocated to the Move Manager from beginning to end in a professional, efficient manner ensuring that charges and costs are kept within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and promptly respond to all rate requests and inquiries by telephone, e-mail and regular mail from customers
  • Obtain all move related costs from three (3) suppliers for each component of the move, calculate costs and add profit margin, as per company guidelines
  • Provide accurate, written rates and quotations to customers within 24 hours. If this timeline cannot be met, contact customer and provide a full explanation
  • Follow-up with customer on move rates/quotations supplied three (3) days after sending and again ten (10) days after sending if not already secured. If MOI is not competitive review file with the view to adjust figures if economically viable
  • Open file when shipment is secured and manage all aspects of the move, including direct liaison with customer, operational and administrative functions
  • Ensure that operational and administrative functions are adhered to within timelines and budget
  • Input all data and update into UVL/MOI computer operating system
  • Approve and submit invoices for payment as required, or within company timelines, as necessary
  • Prepare invoice and double check for accuracy before forwarding to customer with required
  • Ensure that invoicing documentation is prepared as soon as the move is completed
  • Ensure accrual for all supplier invoices not received by month-end, and update the system accordingly
  • Collect payment for all COD shipments prior to shipment being forwarded, unless otherwise approved by General Manager
  • Assist any other department with move related issues
  • Attend all regular departmental meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • OSSD
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in the moving industry is a must
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, GMail
  • Good working knowledge of worldwide geography
  • Customer centric focused
  • Accuracy, time management, creativity, problem solving, decision making
  • Detail oriented
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must work well under pressure and be able to juggle many projects simultaneously
  • Must have an excellent sense of priorities
  • Provide back up support to other group members in the performance of job duties as required
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Pleasant telephone voice/manner
  • Attend all regular departmental meetings
