What is the opportunity?

RBC Portfolio Management & Credit Strategy team is hiring a Senior Manager. You will lead the Cards Account Management team by combining credit strategy analysis with credit talent development responsibilities. Also, you will use in-depth portfolio analytics to develop credit strategies to grow the portfolio profitability across RBC’s retail credit card portfolio and be responsible for the development of an existing talented credit team within the group.

What will you do?

Optimize the profitability of RBC’s retail credit card portfolio by assessing, creating and recommending credit strategies
Engage senior management and Group Risk Management partners to refine and execute said strategies
Assist the implementation and ongoing integrity of credit strategies within appropriate systems (e.g. TRIAD); Support the implementation and execution of campaigns (e.g. acquisition campaigns) where required
Build financial models to simulate financial outcomes of strategy decisions and report on strategy effectiveness and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) outcomes relative to expectations
Establish and develop a highly talented analytical credit team
Create and implement management systems to foster and develop a best-in-class credit analyst team

What do you need to succeed?


3+ years of progressive analytics experience, preferably performing advanced risk and/or product analytics for lending products
Expert problem solving skills including understanding of credit risk fundamentals and financial modelling
Proficient in SQL, Excel, SAS, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to develop effective and collaborative relationships (e.g. with stakeholders, credit bureaus, and remote teams)
Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to senior management and other stakeholders
Proven experience in delivering high quality and accurate work with the ability to multitask and shift priorities


University degree in a numeric field of study (e.g. statistics, engineering, economics, finance, computer science) – to demonstrate ability for critical thinking, data analytics and financial modeling
Experience with modern numeric tools and technology stacks; Python, GitHub, AWS, HDFS, etc.
Conversant in business and technical environments
3+ years of direct role-related experience
