Benefit Cosmetics Canada is looking for a PR and Digital Marketing Manager to join our team for a 14 month contract! This role will lead our digital marketing strategy, and manage all activities related to PR, communications & brand building initiatives for Benefit Cosmetics Canada. The PR and Digital Marketing Manager will develop innovative strategies, campaigns and content that drive brand awareness, loyalty, and fan engagement to achieve digital and social and media objectives. This person will monitor brand voice on digital platforms, analyze metrics and develop programs to ensure Benefit is a leader in the beauty market. They will manage the planning & execution of publicity strategies & campaigns to increase market share, earned coverage, share of voice & generate sales for all aspects of the Benefit Cosmetics Canada business. This individual will cultivate strong relationships with key editors, influencers and media partners working to maximize press in national, local & trade publications. This role will manage and mentor our Digital Marketing Coordinator and PR Coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conceptualize, lead and execute digital marketing strategy, campaigns, promotions, activations for Benefit Canada
Work with retailers and account managers on social campaigns and content, lead/execute customer email strategy
Create and lead online paid digital/social campaigns
Promote online and offline events and campaigns with digital activities


Oversee all social media strategy, content, advertising and channels for Benefit Cosmetics Canada
Identify and execute brand partnerships
Ensure Benefit voice is communicated throughout all digital activities aligning with our brand DNA
Oversee and edit social photography and videography; write, edit and proof digital copy
Identify opportunities to serve Benefit fans and customers with NEW beauty and non-beauty content
Identify and introduce new and emerging social media platforms to expand reach
Monitor social networks for potential PR opportunities and customer care issues


Manage influencer marketing and earned media strategy to secure coverage to drive print, web, digital and social SOV. Identify media trends, news cycles and content opportunities
Create, and lead customer, media and influencer relationships with activations, sends, paid campaigns, contracts, collaborations, sponsorships, trips, key launch events, and desk sides
Set goals, outline KPI’s and analyze the performance of all influencer paid and earned campaigns
Respond to daily media requests, pitch all new launches and brand activations to all media channels
Run VIPs program for media and influential people and Club Pink micro influencer program
Support Bold is Beautiful program through unique influencer events, sends, advertising and PR outreach

Source & negotiate with vendor partners to obtain products and services for events and promotions as required and within budget


Monitor, analyze and report on digital, media, social and influencer coverage, KPI’s and ROI’s
Create and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to appropriate local and global teams
Produce and present marketing presentations & support materials alongside Marketing Director
Budget Management (plan, track spends and process invoices)
Product and TOA forecasting, distribution tracking for PR and Digital use
Maintain relationships with Global counterparts to seek best practices and share learnings
Manage and report on awards, seal initiatives and fundraising events information
Create internal communication tools that keep employees informed of PR/Digital results that can be used for training/motivating
Vet and oversee requests for special events, sponsorship opportunities and charitable donations for fit within brand strategies and guidelines


Support Internal Spokesperson (National Brow Artist) with ensuring media training and presentation skills are kept up to date and aligned with brand DNA
Ensure NBA delivers brand messaging across all media channels
Build NBA profile amongst media and influencers through event hosting, relationship building, interviews, on-air appearances and social content
Collaborate with NBA to align working calendar as it related to PR/Influencer activations
Manage Brow Besties program to bring services to life for influencers and influential figures
Secure media and interview opportunities for NBA in print and online outlets, with a future focus on broadcast


University degree or related education in marketing, PR or communications
5+ years’ experience in PR, and digital & social media & influencer marketing
Proficiency in French language is a very strong asset
Experience in cosmetics and/or consumer packaged goods industry is a strong asset
Experience managing minimum 1 direct report
Thorough understanding of the principles and practice of PR
Established media contacts are an asset
Strong understanding of digital marketing, metrics and analysis
Thorough knowledge of social media and influencer marketing tactics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills / persuasive copy-writing skills
Strong team player, with a proven ability to problem solve, prioritize and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and budgeting skills
Entrepreneurial, creative and customer focused attitude that will drive results and deliver big ideas!
Ability to work well across the organization and with 3rd parties
Ability to travel within Canada and internationally for press events, meetings and conferences
