Seeking Reliable Full-Time, Seasonal Dispatcher for our 2020 season

Are you able to manage and direct delivery trucks through a bustling city?

Do you possess the skills to motivate and retain drivers?

Can you provide efficient delivery AND on-time delivery to demanding clients?

Based in our Brossard location, we currently require a Seasonal Full time, Fluently Bilingual Dispatcher for ensuring smooth, efficient and on-time client deliveries through proficient scheduling tactics and dispatch of truck drivers, un/loading equipment, and service vehicles. This position will be from April to end October.

The Dispatcher is responsible for efficient, cost effective, on-time, client deliveries through effective management of time and assets (people and equipment).

Comprehensive knowledge of city road conditions and restrictions, as well as commercial vehicle driver hours of service regulations, allows for proficient scheduling tactics and dispatching of drivers, un/loading equipment, and service vehicles.

In addition to managing commercial and retail deliveries, the dispatcher monitors yard inventory levels, processes requisition orders to replenish inventory and ensure appropriate inventory levels to meet client requirements at each pickup location.

Compensation is a weekly rate ($1,200-$1,300) and potential for bonuses.

Requirements

College program in logistics or equivalent business-related experience preferred
Transportation industry knowledge and experience (i.e. shipping/receiving, scheduling, broker negotiations and regulatory requirements)
Customer service centric – actively seeking to help others
Advanced computer skills - experience with dispatch software
Ability to organize information & schedules in a structured and logical way that is most productive for the drivers and client’s
Able to deal with people sensitively, respectfully, and professionally
Able to work under pressure and remain composed and calm in times of stress
Initiative – job requires developing one’s own ways of doing things, guiding oneself with little or no supervision, and depending on oneself to get things done
Flexible, able to deal with ever changing environment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Organized, time management skills and can-do attitude
