Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House is looking for a passionate, creative and committed individual to join our dynamic, Reggio-inspired team as a School Age Supervisor of our 5-12 year old before and after school care program located at Lord Nelson Elementary School. This program will be running in the school and also as part of The Village, located on the roof top of the school providing a community of care and learning for 89 infants, toddlers, three to five and school age. Responsibilities:

The School Age Supervisor will be responsible for the leadership, supervision and shared administration of the school age program. They will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with The School Age Care Coordinator and The Village Leader/Coordinator and other educators in implementing a progressive and innovative program inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach. Qualifications and other responsibilities include:

· Responsible Adult for School Age program

· Minimum 1 years experience working in a childcare facility

· Willingness to provide emergent programming based on the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach

· Knowledge of the Early Learning Framework (BC)

· Strength in building and maintaining supportive and collaborative partnerships with families

· Passion for constant learning in partnership with children, families and colleagues

· An eagerness to work as part of a collaborative, supportive and dynamic team in a non-profit and volunteer-based organization

· Ability to effectively supervise staff, volunteers and practicum students

· Creativity, initiative, enthusiasm and a sense of humor

· Passion for ongoing professional development and growth

· Ability to work in a multicultural and inclusive environment

· Strong planning, organizational, leadership and communication skills

· First Aid Certificate

· Experience working with special needs children is an asset

. Class 4 DL or willingness to obtain is an asset

Hours: 35hrs/wk: may include a split shift: 7:30-9:00 and 2:30 to 6:00 plus admin time

Salary and Benefits: $23.50 plus excellent benefit package including 3 weeks vacation first year, paid sick time, medical, extended health, dental, pension plan and exceptional professional development opportunities
