Front-End Web Developer

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Development Manager, the Front-End Web Developer is responsible for;

Developing new user-facing features based on requirements defined by the product team
Build modular layouts, reusable code and libraries for future use
Create and maintain automated UI tests to ensure quality and expected requirements
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX design
Help set technical standards and best practices for the product usability
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
Ensure product is optimized for responsive and mobile layouts
Standardize existing features into reusable code for future implementations
Maintaining brand consistency throughout design
Optimizing web pages for maximum speed and scalability

Requirements

5+ years of work experience in web development and/or front-end development and/or UX design with a proven record of successfully launching products
Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
Proficient understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery, Knockout.js or related
Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image include their optimizations
Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that the application will adhere to them
Working knowledge of the Microsoft development stack including NET, ASP.NET, MVC and Razor Syntax
Demonstrates critical thinking skills and independent motivation
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to drive and implement ideas in a changing environment
A demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse functional expertise, different organization levels, and multiple geographic locations
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully handle ambiguity.
Willingness to be hands-on and perform multiple roles to ensure timely execution.
Ability to quickly absorb technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience
Strong organization and planning skills, ability to run multiple projects without compromising results

Preferred Skills

Experience working as a UI/UX designer
Experience developing web-based, SaaS or enterprise applications within the .NET environment, 3.5+, Web API, and MVC, and Web Services
Knowledge and experience with Team Foundation Server / Azure DevOps
Previous e-commerce or fin-tech experience
Exposure to PCI compliance
Understanding of subscription products and self-service funnels as well as GAAP accounting principals
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have experience working with agile development methodology
Excellent business acumen and deep user empathy
You excel at communicating your ideas to others in both verbal and written form
Experience with agile development methodologies and software like Azure Devops, etc.
