Why this role is important?

The primary responsibility of the Pharmacist is to provide support within the Health Solutions programs and services in both the Drug Solutions portfolio and the Workplace Wellbeing portfolio. The Pharmacist will provide direct support to patients, caregivers and members of their health care team enrolled in the HealthWATCH Drug Plan, Specialty PPN, Cannabis programs, Health Coaching, Virtual Care, Cancer care programs. The Pharmacist will also provide comprehensive Drug Formulary Management services for traditional and specialty drugs and directly work in the Prior Authorization programs we offer. As a patient-oriented professional, the pharmacist is responsible for providing medication support services to fulfill the health care needs of each patient in compliance with provincial and federal pharmacy regulations and in accordance with established corporate procedures.

What You'll Do:
Complete monthly formulary reviews of traditional and specialty drugs and make recommendations for coverage

Provide Prior Authorization (PA) program support by completing PA application reviews, answering patient and physician questions, develop and revise PA criteria and execute on related forms.

Development and ongoing maintenance of specialty drug formulary and associated criteria to support the Specialty PPN programs

Attend and contribute to clinical formulary teams – Value Assessment Team and Clinical Advisory Board on a regular cadence

Provide Virtual Care consults to enrolled patients and respond to information requests as it relates to medication therapy and drug information

Leverage digital platforms to respond to end users and deliver pharmacy services in various modalities, virtual consults, by phone or chat

Utilizing Health Coaching principles to interact with patients enrolled in the Health Coaching program and support them through direct consultation that works toward achieving their goals

Develop and track health outcome measures and support the achievement of such in enrolled patients

Adopt patient centric approach to ensure that patients’ needs have been met and in parallel that patients have successfully achieve all the desired outcomes of treatment.

Develop and maintain specialized knowledge of drug therapy for Oncology and cancer related syndromes and conduct individualized consults for enrolled patients and their caregivers

Conduct presentations to clients as required to drive understanding of products and services

Support patient and client inquiries in both English and French via all channels – phone, text, email, chat, video conferencing. The requirement to provide patient consultations at off peak hours during weekday evenings may occur.

Maintain privacy and confidentiality according to provincial and federal regulations

Demonstrate teamwork, engagement, and apply Blue Culture and Core Values in all interactions

What You'll Need:
Minimum of university undergraduate degree in pharmacy

Licensed in the province of practice in Part A of the register

Minimum 3 years of relevant pharmacy experience in community, hospital, or specialty pharmacy

Experience and/or knowledge of specialty pharmaceuticals & biologics an asset

Experience in formulary drug management including special/prior authorization an asset

Background or Specialty in Oncology

Experience with Health Outcome measurements, insights and applications

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong aptitude to learn technology and work out of different systems and patient engagement platforms

Ability to work under stress, with short lead times, and changing customer demands with short turnaround

Bilingual in French and English is an asset
