PFC Flexible Circuits Ltd, a division of OSI Electronics, is seeking a General Manager to oversee operations at its Scarborough, Ontario location. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with other internal group business unit leaders in assisting them to meet their business unit goals while driving external sales growth and operating margins through improvement to systems, processes and disciplines necessary to ensure on-time delivery of high quality products and achieve high customer satisfaction; developing the business unit strategy; driving execution to achieve all set goals; and providing clear leadership and maintaining a high level of morale and cohesiveness for the OSIE team. This position requires an experienced global leader who is able to effect change and enable teams to maximize performance and resources.

Responsibilities

Internal Relationships

Develop employees to the next level by ensuring assigned employee fully understand clients’ accounts , providing effective feedback to employees (positive and critical), identifying and promoting growth opportunities for all employees
Implement local policies and work with HR in recruiting, staffing, training and account management that result in top-notch client service as well as a positive work environment that fosters a pattern of long-term staff retention
Promote a positive environment for staff and identify and work with management team to address any issues that are creating barriers to an optimal work environment for all staff
Provide feedback, advice and back up as needed to other members of management team to ensure all the team has support needed to effectively run accounts and promote positive work environment
Attend and actively participate in management team meetings, offering ideas, insights and recommendations on company policies, staffing, client service, new business and other topics that ultimately impact the overall quality of the company
Consistently demonstrate ability to successfully move into problem-solving mode whenever challenges or concerns arise
Work well with and demonstrate respect for employees at all levels and consistently contribute to a positive work environment for the entire OSIE employees
Take lead and work with HR on implementing at least one internal program/procedure per quarter that improves office moral and/or contributes to employee’s retention

External Relationships

Identify new business opportunities, participate in new business pitches and assist in drafting new business proposals
Expand and/or renew existing accounts
Maintain an extensive network of connections that can be tapped for new business outreach.
Develop relationships with vendors or contractors that represent a variety of fields
Develop relationships with other companies that are like-minded and suitable for/open to partnering with OSIE on projects when appropriate

Communication and Process

Assume all responsibilities for effectively leading an OSIE team, including ensuring all administrative pieces are in place (work plan, contract, budget, projections, etc.), clients report high satisfaction, all employees clearly understand organization goals & strategies, and the entire OSIE team is working in a cooperative manner to promote great work as well as a positive internal team environment
Build strategic business plans and demonstrate OSIE approach of offering unique business/ client strategies tailored to the needs of the client and provide enough detail that they can be implemented by client in the event OSIE is not contracted for implementation
Lead proposal process for new business opportunities by adhering to OSIE policies for new business approach and development
Take lead role in creating a new piece of OSIE intellectual property or new OSIE training at least once per year for the Management Team
Consistently meet internal and external deadlines

Financial and Administrative

Regularly update projections to US Corporate and manage work to meet or exceed projected revenue targets
Manage budgets to maintain high client satisfaction while meeting or coming in below budget
Find ways to save company budgets by improving/streamlining internal systems or procedures
Direct authorize and implement policies to maximize revenues and minimize operational cost which generally translate into direct P&L responsibilities for PFC operations
Ensuring resources are necessary to execute the requirements of quality systems and
Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork
Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct
It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business
Qualifications
Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, or related technical field ; Master’s degree preferred; MBA desirable. Equivalent foreign degree acceptable
Minimum of 15 years contract manufacturing, business development, supply chain, finance and human resources, quality assurance sales experience
Minimum of 10 years’ experience at operations, production and manufacturing industries with responsibility for client service and project/program management, in electronic manufacturing services.
PCB background preferred
Superior communication , problem solving and exemplary management skills
Ability to manage and mentor all levels of employees
proficient with office and manufacturing software

OSI Systems, Inc. has three operating divisions: (a) Security, providing security and inspection systems, turnkey security screening solutions and related services; (b) Healthcare, providing patient monitoring, diagnostic cardiology and anesthesia systems; and (c) Optoelectronics and Manufacturing, providing specialized electronic components and electronic manufacturing services for original equipment manufacturers with applications in the defense, aerospace, medical and industrial markets, among others.
