The YMCA of Fredericton has been serving the Greater Fredericton

community for 158 years and has recently formalized its 2014-2019

strategic plan that sets out a path to achieve its ‘healthy people for healthy

communities’ vision. With approximately 250 full and part-time staff, over

400 volunteers and a reputation in the region as a trusted and relevant

charity of choice, the YMCA of Fredericton is committed to providing its

5800 members with access to the highest quality people, programs and

partnerships. The YMCA of Fredericton is a 60,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art

building located in the heart of Fredericton and requires self-starting

individuals who want to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to building

healthy children, families and communities.

Position Overview
To provide quality instruction, and ensure a safe, and supportive environment
for all participants.

  • Current and clear security clearance with vulnerable sector screening
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR – Level C Training recommended
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact
with members and build relationships in a diverse community
  • Current YMCA Aquatic Fitness Certification or similar certification
  • Strong communications skills, team player, with initiative
  • Minimum age 16 years

Salary: $15.02/hour

Skills and Qualifications
  • Provide a quality Aqua fitness class that includes all members
regardless of age and ability.

  • Keep the Safety of your members at the forefront of all your classes.
  • Arrive on time in uniform, with music, prepared to deliver a class
  • Use respectable language at all times
  • Well-groomed and appropriately dressed in clothing that is fitting for
the position and that will leave the best possible impression on the

  • Accept the guidance and decisions from the Supervisor/Manager as
well as reporting planned or unplanned absence to the

  • Treat staff, clients and other volunteers of the YMCA of Fredericton
with respect and dignity and be responsible in the use of the YMCA of
Fredericton’s resources

  • Perform responsibilities promptly, reliably and to the best of your
ability and training

  • Adhere to policies and procedures of the YMCA of Fredericton
  • Accept and work within the YMCA of Fredericton’s Mission Statement
as well as the Values of the YMCA of Fredericton

  • Display appropriate YMCA of Fredericton Staff identification as

  • Participate in orientation and training programs when required
