We are a small geotechnical engineering firm based in Calgary, Alberta that provides a modern, customer service based approach to our clients. We serve a wide range of clients within the heavy civil, commercial, energy, residential, transportation, mining, and municipal sectors. Consequently, you will be exposed to a wide variety of projects and will be assigned simple design tasks work collaboratively on with senior staff.
Factor is seeking a engineer in training with an interest in geotechnical engineering design and inspection, that is comfortable with performing both field and design work. Mentorship will be provided and senior engineering staff will work closely with you to support your development and challenge you. While we will be available to help you, we prefer EITs that help themselves first.
Duties
Mentorship will be provided for all duties and senior staff will be available for any and all questions to support you and get you started.
- Bearing inspections for single family homes and small retaining walls
- Field drilling and logging
- Digital borehole log generation
- Basics of geotechnical reporting
- Simple retaining wall design
- Simple pile design
- Simple slope stability assessments
- Organization of drilling programs
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering
- E.I.T status with APEGA
- Valid and unrestricted drivers license

- Meticulously organized and punctual
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills

- Takes direction well
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Salary: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
