POSITION: Licensed Practical Nurse

Purpose of Position:
The LPN shall be committed to supporting implementation of the "Eden Alternative TM" by surrendering institutional routines and creating a habitat for living based on Kennebec Manor's organizational vision, mission and values as well as the "Eden Alternative TM"

Assist the Registered Nurse as directed in the oversight of resident care with the aim of alleviating the three plagues of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom based on Kennebec Manor's organizational vision, mission and values as well as the "Eden Alternative TM"
Assist the Registered Nurse as directed in the oversight of staff.

The LPN shall be committed to creating a culture of safety for all.

LPN QUALIFICATIONS

Embraces the mission, vision, values and Eden Alternative philosophy of the organization.

Ability to relate to the elderly, and clients who are mentally and/or physically challenged/impaired.

Ability to demonstrate leadership and flexibility.

Graduate of an approved course and registered with the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses

Predictive index within parameters of profile;

Physically able to perform assigned duties.

Ability to team lead under the supervision of an RN.

Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, health care personnel and visitors.

Neat and clean in appearance.

Good previous work and attendance record.

POSITION: Resident Care Attendant (PSW)

Purpose of the Position:
The Resident Attendant shall be committed to supporting the "Eden Alternative TM" by further surrendering institutional routines and creating a habitat for living based on Kennebec Manor's organizational vision, mission and values as well as the "Eden Alternative TM"

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and / or Licensed Practical Nurse, the Resident Attendant provides holistic care by assisting the resident to meet his/her physical, psychological and spiritual needs utilizing the vision, mission and values of the organization as well as the "Eden Alternative TM"

The Resident Attendant assists the resident in performing their activities of daily living and maintaining their environment with the aim of alleviating the three plagues of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom based on Kennebec Manor's organizational vision, mission and values as well as the "Eden Alternative TM"

The Resident Attendant shall be committed to creating a culture of safety for all.
RESIDENT CARE ATTENDANT QUALIFICATIONS

Embraces the mission, vision, values and Eden Alternative philosophy of the organization.

Successful completion of grade 12 or GED equivalent.

Graduate of certified health care aide/personal support worker or geriatric aide program or equivalent.

Predictive index within parameters of profile;

Ability to relate to the elderly, and clients who are mentally and/or physically challenged/impaired.

Ability to demonstrates flexibility.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to work in cooperation with co-workers.

Physically able to perform assigned duties.

Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, health care workers and visitors.

Good previous work and attendance record.

Neat and clean in appearance.

Customer service experience an asset.
