As a Rehabilitation Assistant with TIDES you will:
Work as a member of the TIDES (Telehealth & Innovation Deployment, Education & Sustainment) Rehabilitation Team to provide quality patient/client-focused services in acute and community settings, which may include travel to the patient/client location.
Under the operational supervision of the Director/Manager, practice supervision of the OT/PT/SLP Practice Coordinators/Lead, and the work direction of the TIDES OT/PT/SLP, carry out established rehabilitation activities within the OT/PT/SLP scope of practice.
Perform duties such as receiving assignments and implementing lower risk interventions related to the clinical aspects of the OT, PT and/or SLP care plans, demonstrating and teaching activities, adapting devices to enable to maximize potential for independence, and assisting with practicing daily living skills.
Be responsible for Telehealth scheduling, set-up, and tasks assigned by the TIDES OT/PT/SLP in person and/or via Telehealth technologies.
Reports relevant observations of patient/client progress and behaviours.
Provide direction to volunteers, organize equipment and supplies for activities, organize and clean equipment, and maintain an established inventory of supplies.

Education & Experience
Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program.
Valid BC Driver’s License is required. Use of personal vehicle may be required for travel between sites for which mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with the current collective agreement.
Knowledge & Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
