The Global Technology Solutions (GTS) - Level 2 Windows team is mandated to ensure that Information Technology changes are effectively operated, scheduled, implemented, and verified to provide service delivery stability.
Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for systems level support for production critical systems, development systems, implementation support and user acceptance environment support on a global basis.
This support comprises of technical assistance to users, resolution and prevention of problems in a 7x24 production environment, systems capacity planning and recommendation of solutions to overcome resource constraints, systems level software installation and updates. You will be also responsible for establishing and enforcing departmental logical access control guidelines and liaison with other departments for assistance with implementing new projects. There is a rotational on-call component for this role.
The primary work location of this position will be in the Etobicoke neighborhood of Dundas Street West & Highway 427.
Is this role right for you?
You will perform Windows Server OS troubleshooting and be involved in multiple technical projects.
You will collaborate with various teams to come up with an optimal patching solution.
You will test and validate SCCM deployments following documented procedures.
You are responsible for sending consistent and timely communications to business and IT stakeholders.
You will work with the global team to implement global framework to standardize tools, process and technologies related to software deployment.
You will be involved in automating routine procedures to improve support efficiency.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
You have strong communication (verbal/written) skills in order to interact with both technical & non-technical stakeholders; and produce written technical documentation for presentation.
You have at least 4+ years of hands-on technical working experience in the systems administration & troubleshooting of Windows Server 2012 R2 & newer operating systems.
You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience with both Windows Hyper-V Server & Hyper-V Replication.
You can demonstrate technical working knowledge of Windows File-Server sharing configuration & troubleshooting.
You can demonstrate a technical understanding of MS System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) & MS System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) technologies.
Through the use of Windows PowerShell, Perl or .NET, you can demonstrate the ability in writing effective Windows scripting that will survive a test of time.
