The Communications and Proposal Assistant will be part of a critical and growing Business Development team and will work directly with our senior management and construction teams. As the successful candidate, you will be primarily responsible for supporting the Communications Manager with compiling, writing, and editing necessary information required for Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Tenders (RFTs) and pre-qualifications. You will also support internal and external distribution of information and coordinate events.
As a Communications and Proposals Assistant at CANA, you will:
Work with the Communications Manager to compile, write and edit proposal responses;
Layout proposal content in InDesign;
Compile documents required to be issued with Request for Tenders;
Deliver completed tenders and proposals;
Maintain our database of resumes and project profiles;
Be responsible for internal posts on our company Intranet;
Coordinate content collection for the quarterly newsletter;
Prepare the corporate calendar, posters and other internal and external documents;
Support the Communications Manager with staff and recruitment related events.
To be successful at CANA, you will have the following qualifications and experience:
University degree or College Diploma in English, Public Relations, Journalism or Communications;
Experience using InDesign (intermediate or higher);
Proficient with Microsoft Word;
Valid driver’s license and vehicle;
Independent thinker and problem solver;
Work confidently on your own;
Exceptional interpersonal skills;
Ability to perform well under pressure;
Comfortable with tight deadlines and working in a fast-paced environment;
Strong editing capabilities;
Excellent written communication skills;
Experience in proposals or communications an asset;
Construction, engineering or design background an asset.
