Under General Supervision of the Unit Manager/Designate, the Administrative Support III is responsible for a wide variety of clerical support and managing patient information. Greets patients when they come to the clinic. Prepares charts, notification of referrals. Provides direction to patients as needed. Validates patients using 2 patient identifiers, and checks patients into the electronic system (Connect Care). Typing and transcription of consults, letters, etc. for Physicians and Nurse Practitioner (NP). Answer phones. Timely and accurate update and reporting of relevant clinic metrics into databases. Book patient appointments as necessary. Scan, email, and fax information as needed, using EMR. Communicate with physician offices to ensure patient visits are booked or completed, clinics rebooked prn and patients are contacted. Fax consult letters, request for referral and other relevant clinic documents to external stakeholders (physician offices, community partners). May be required to perform other clinic related duties (such as, but not limited to) clean and stock patient assessment rooms, stock paper supplies, accompany or transport patients via wheelchair to ensure the smooth running of the clinic. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Connect Care training required. Medical terminology required. Experience in Netcare, Vax, and Outlook. Proficiency with Microsoft office products/ Microsoft office training required. Proficiency in email use. Proficient and able to communicate verbally and in writing in the English language required. BLS CPR (Heart and Stroke). Able to push, pull transfer patients in weights greater than 300 lbs.
2 years’ experience working in a health care setting, ambulatory care setting preferred. Payroll entry experience preferred. EMR training and experience preferred
