Medcor Canada is looking to hire a Registered Nurse (RN) to be COVID Compliance Officer at a television production site located in Vancouver, BC. This is a variable hour position working 12-hour shifts, Monday – Friday (Weekend work may be necessary) for the duration of the production.

This individual will assist the production with implementation and oversight of the production’s Covid-19 safety plan. Specific duties and responsibilities of the COVID-19 Compliance Officer may include, but are not limited to, overseeing and monitoring physical distancing, testing, symptom monitoring, disinfecting protocols, and PPE education, protocols and adherence and such other duties as may be determined by the production

A typical day in the life of a Medcor COVID Compliance Officer

COVID-19 Compliance Officer (CCO) will be assigned to a specific Television production ("Production") and lead the COVID Team on that production
Ensure that Production's policies regarding COVID-19 are communicated and enforced on a series or pilot
Oversees the COVID Testing Coordinator (CTC) and is familiar with all practices and policies with regard to testing. CCO will not administer the tests
Consult with Production Safety
Ensure the Production Covid training materials are made available and distributed to the cast and crew
Liaison with Production to cultivate questions that will be answered by the Production Medical Advisory Team
Disseminate information to the Cast, Staff & Crew relative to Health & Safety
Ensure that signage (Social Distancing, PPE, hand washing) is displayed around the workplace, including, but not limited to: stages, locations, office spaces
Monitor cleaning crews to ensure that they are adhering to cleaning protocols
Oversight of ordering, storing, and distributing PPE for the cast and crew as needed
Works closely with the Set Medic to respond to possible COVID related illness
Periodically advising production management and production executives on questions or issues that arise
Ensuring that plans for crew movements, separation and social distancing are implemented according to minimum standards
Authorized to correct unsafe practices such improper social distancing and wearing of PPE

You Must

Have valid registration with the BCCNP and current CPR/BLS certification (Need to provide proof of current license and certifications)
Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency or occupational medicine
Have at least 1 years management or leadership experience
Have a positive and outgoing personality
Be detail oriented
Be good at prioritizing and multitasking
Be willing to go above and beyond to give excellent customer service
Love people and giving them the best care humanly possible
Be able to check temperature using a thermometer (Medcor Canada to provide training as needed)
Be able to wear required PPE for up to 12 hours per shift (face mask, eye protection, medical gloves, gown, safety vest, etc.)
Be able to work in an outdoor environment (subject to change)
Be able to pass a fit test for a respirator based on WSBC compliance standards (facial hair must not interfere with seal of mask)
Have strong English skills
Be able to repeatedly climb a 3-step ladder, and perform bending, lifting, twisting, reaching, squeezing, and standing for long periods of time
Have strong communication and customer service skills
Have strong technology skills (navigate cell phone or tablet & texting)

It’s a Plus If

You are COHN Certified
You hold an Occupational First Aid 3 Certification or Equivalency

Work Environment:
The COVID Compliance Officer is required to work in a variety of work environments designated by the client. The COVID Compliance Officer will be working in a potentially high COVID-19 exposure environment with known and unknown associated health risks.
