About the Opportunity

The Intermediate Corporate Accountant position is a key member of our team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Intermediate Corporate Accountant is responsible for supporting the day to day accounting functions of the Company, including financial statement preparation and consolidation; account analysis and reconciliation; cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting; audit preparation and investor reporting. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Assist with month end close process, i.e., preparation of journal entries, recurring entries and accruals

· Ensure transactions are posted to the appropriate general ledger account

· Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports, including financial statements and supporting schedules

· Perform monthly inter-company reconciliation

· Review and monitor accounts receivable and cash accounts. Perform weekly/monthly bank reconciliations

· Reconcile and maintain a full understanding of all balance sheet and income statement accounts and prepare a detailed variance analysis of revenue and expenses; ensuring timeliness and accuracy

· Assist with year-end audit and reporting requirements

· Document and ensure continuous process improvements are applied within area of responsibility

· Ensure all HST and other legislated taxes are reconciled and remitted

· Resolve accounting discrepancies

· Participate in special projects and other initiatives as required

· Respond to transactional accounting questions and issues

· Work closely with other team members to coordinate responsibilities and prioritize tasks to ensure that all key deadlines are met

Required Qualifications

· University degree in Accounting or related discipline

· CPA designation or in progress

· 2+ years of experience in a similar capacity

· Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

· QuickBooks experience would be a strong asset

Compensation

$55,000 - $65,000/year
