Purpose:
Launched in October 2014, York University's new School of Continuing Studies (the "School") is rapidly expanding. It will be one of the largest and most innovative of its kind in the country with the potential to reflect the full spectrum of the continuing education field. With unique course delivery models and top-quality programs, the School will increase the University's adult and international student population and will be central to the University's overall growth strategy. The Digital Marketing Assistant reports to the Director, Marketing and Enrolment Management (the "Director"). The incumbent is responsible for supporting the Marketing and Enrolment Management team in executing, measuring and optimizing the School of Continuing Studies online presence to improve conversion rates of prospective students into registered students to meet or exceed the School?s ambitious targets for growth.

Education:
College diploma in marketing or a related field or or two years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar task in addition to minimum experience requirement listed below. University degree is an asset.

Experience:
At least one year in a data-driven or digital marketing role. Demonstrated proficiency to generate traffic, convert visitors into leads, and then nurture them (using dynamic workflows) into converted customers, SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns. Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnel experience with A/B and multivariate experiments

Skills:
Superior writing skills. Uncompromised attention to detail. Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions; Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate. Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends). Advanced WordPress skills. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints. Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking. Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement. Advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with data visualization tools would be an asset. Ability to work effectively independently and in team. Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, Customer Relationship Management Systems and the use of social media platforms in a marketing context. Demonstrated skills and abilities in the following: ability to deal courteously and effectively with people, excellent oral communication skills, ability to work independently and in a team environment, good problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities, active listening, effective customer service and interpersonal skills, exercising tact, diplomacy and discretion when dealing with others, ability to maintain confidentiality, good organizational skills including setting priorities and record keeping skills, must perform well in a rapidly evolving environment with strict timelines and able to multi-task and meet deadlines, working effectively under pressure of high volume, exercising initiative and good judgment, ability to maintain confidentiality, flexibility, ability to quickly learn and apply new programs and procedures, punctuality and reliability.
