Franchise acquisition Specialist

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the franchise acquisition specialist will work collaboratively with the operations field and other functional teams to develop and implement new initiatives to acquire top talent from across many industries to support the rapid channel growth at Modern.

Purpose of Job:

The incumbent will be responsible for the updating of existing processes and also introducing new initiatives by leveraging their Franchise experience to increase awareness to the Modern Franchise model and consequently draw interest and excitement to joining the Modern franchisee portfolio. He/she will quickly understand our value proposition and lead the development of new franchising relationships through social media, external engagements, maximizing our existing franchisee base for new leads and enhancement to our website. He/she will be responsible for business acquisition and development within the marketplace with a national scope along with business planning for their franchising segment, development of existing relationships / acquisition of new relationships and being the market area expert to our model.

Major Accountabilities:

1. Acquire new franchising business owner relationships by:

  • Assisting and advising Modern’s partners in marketing tactics and structuring/ closing high value franchising deals where possible.
  • Network portfolios meetings
  • Developing social media presence
  • Supporting the entire lead and application process (Franchise engagement strategy)
  • Planning and completing relationship building activities which create new Franchisee opportunities
  • Provide value by developing and maintaining an awareness of events, trends and practices in the markets of franchising; identifying prospects using multiple channels
  • Developing a network of community business contacts and participating in marketing/educational seminars and cleaning expos
  • Prepares all documentation required to support franchise agreements for the market including disclosure to new Franchisees
  • Onboarding (set-up new franchisees and provide them with all necessary documentation)
  • Frequent communications and formal updates to the Vice President of Operations and also Account Management to support our significant growth

2. In a hunter role, the candidate will be dedicated to providing our business with highly skilled professionals well-matched to our unique hiring requirements and workplace environment to support the various Franchise profiles available at Modern:

  • Sourcing candidates, developing and initiating development action plans to support future hiring requirements across Canada
  • Enhancement to our franchise portal and brand awareness
  • Qualify recruitment candidates based on predetermined standards and scope of work

Education/Work Experience/Designations

Required:

  • University/college courses in marketing, sales or equivalent
  • 3 years sales experience or equivalent relevant experience such as hunter profile - placement agency
  • Bilingual (90%English/10%French)

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Excellent skills in project management, driving change, and influencing
  • Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and listening skills

Working Conditions:

  • A standard office environment is provided; however, the incumbent has the flexibility to work from home
  • Travel could be up to 40% of the role if not based in Montreal or GTA
  • Modern will provide a cellphone and you will also have access to our group insurance after 3 months
