The opportunity: Located in Mississauga, the Regional Director of Operations - East Retail will report to the Managing Director, Canadian Retail Services and be accountable for property performance, reporting, and client service for our Eastern retail assets. Travel throughout the portfolio and to company offices will be required.
What you will do:
Support and collaborate with the Managing Director, Canadian Retail Services and other retail department leads.
Supervise and support eastern General Managers/Property Managers.
Responsible for the property portfolio operating budget process.
Responsible for the Property Reporting process to ensure consistency, quality, and timeliness for delivery to internal and external clients.
Responsible for tenant sales reporting including analysis, troubleshooting, and report enhancement.
Monitor property performance including property accounts receivable and trending.
Liaison between legal services and asset management team on all tenant collection matters
Responsible for the lease assignment and transfer process.
Responsible for the monthly property recoverable salary allocations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Collaborate with Regional Directors, Operations, B.C. and Prairies to ensure consistent use and development of best practices, policies, various initiatives.
Direct contact point with clients and Investment Management as required.
Assist Managing Director, Canadian Retail Services with property acquisitions and dispositions, including due diligence and utilizing property take over checklist.
Assist Managing Director, Canadian Retail Services with portfolio and organizational initiatives.
Collaborate with Manager, Technical Services, National and Regional Marketing Directors, Tenant Coordinators and Construction department as required.
Involved with select capital projects including reporting timing, budget adherence and BentallGreenOak’s best practices and policies.
Ensure excellent team relations through personal contact and excellent customer service.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and practices.

Who you are:
Experience – Minimum 10 years in real estate operations and management experience; Comfortable with and experienced in handling multiple projects and constantly changing schedules and priorities; Substantial amount of experience with retail properties, ideally in both open and closed centres.
Education - Undergraduate degree or diploma from a recognized institution; Real estate license would be an asset.
Management Experience - Proven project management experience, ideally gained from both the contractor and landlord side; Good problem solving skills; Excellent negotiator; Excellent interpersonal skills.
Relationship Skills - High degree of personal integrity; Adept at developing and sustaining co-operative working relationships with staff, senior management, clients, tenants, contractors and the public; Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both oral and written; Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with contractors, clients/users and the public, innovative, motivated; Energetic and the ability to function in a team environment.
Organizational/Multi-Task Skills - Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities, adapt to new ideas and constant changes, experience in creating and working with budgets, proformas etc.
Computer Skills - Intermediate to advanced skills in Word and Excel.
