Description Overview:

Are you passionate about making a difference? Help keep continuing care workers safe during these incredibly challenging times by joining the team at SafeCare BC. The Programs and Events Coordinator will support the delivery of critical education and training to continuing care workers across BC, as well as support other key initiatives like the Hearts and Hands campaign, a celebration of Health Care Assistants. You’ll work with a deeply committed, high-performing team to get information into the hands of those who need it most in a way that’s organized, timely, and professional. Plan and execute events within a given budget, including:

· Venue selection and booking;

· Liaising with and coordinating speakers, workshop facilitators;

· Coordinating on-site logistics, including catering, AV requirements, print materials, day-of participant registration, etc.;

· Supporting the delivery of online education and consultation sessions;

· Coordinating with external organizational partners to plan and execute upcoming events;

· Managing participant registration, including inquiries and cancellation waitlists;

· Providing input into event evaluation strategies;

· Tracking expenditures and remaining within a specified budget, unless otherwise approved; and

· Other duties as required by the Association.

Market SafeCare BC initiatives and collaborate on communications projects, including:

· Providing input into the development of marketing and communications strategies as it relates to events and programs;

· Drafting general marketing and communications content;

· Assisting with the evaluation of the effectiveness of marketing and communications projects;

· Tracking expenditures and remaining within a specified budget, unless otherwise approved;

· Conducting outreach with SafeCare BC members, including presence at industry events and one-on-one member contact;

· Liaising with partner organizations and associations;

· Maintaining up-to-date contact databases; and

· Other duties as required by the Association.

Support the development of SafeCare BC’s larger program strategies, including:

· Providing feedback in the development of SafeCare BC’s annual workplan, as it pertains to programs and events;

· Participating in quality improvement initiatives around enhancing operational efficiencies around the planning and execution of events and programs; and

· Positively representing SafeCare BC.


· Practical experience coordinating small and large-scale events

· Customer service experience

· Marketing or communications diploma, or administration assistant certificate / diploma

· Excellent client-centred focus

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Experience using social media and electronic marketing tools e.g. Hootsuite, MailChimp, M365

· Competent in MS Office, Powerpoint, Illustrator, and Excel

· Experience using WordPress-powered websites

· Able to prioritize and multitask effectively

· Background in seniors care an asset

· Regular access to vehicle and valid BC drivers licence

Working Conditions

· Salary range $38,000 - $41,000 based on experience
