Position: Critical Incident Response Manager
This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote and in-office working

The Investment Management team focuses on research analysis and delivering strong returns, and is comprised of portfolio managers, research analysts, traders and more.
FIC has more than 1000 full time employees and is headquartered in Toronto, with regional offices in Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will be experienced in technology and operations incident management and have an in-depth understanding of the value of holistic incident response planning, rigorous testing of incident response procedures and playbooks, as well as rapid and timely response to critical technology and operations incidents.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working at a technical and business level – proactively suggesting improvements to the technology incident management playbooks whilst also being able to co-ordinate front-line Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) during major events. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of incident response tools and techniques, have experience in responding to and managing widespread security events, and understand how best to maintain CIRT team skills and knowledge.
The role will be supported by a team of business continuity and disaster recovery analysts who will look to this role to provide them with direction and guidance during serious incidents. The role will also be supported by a strong security leadership team, and global incident management process, who are keen to develop this capability.
Fidelity Canada will be looking at this role to report on several key incident management related KPIs / KRIs and provide assurance on major event response process.
What You Will Do

Act as the single point of contact with the Executive Management Team (EMT), Fidelity Investments Canada Senior Executive Team (FIC SET), Fidelity Clearing Canada Senior Management Team (FCC SMT) and Fidelity Canada Executive Team (FCET).

Liaise with Fidelity International (FIL) Major Incident Managers and represent Fidelity Canada in any major FIL Global events.

Ensure FIL Major Incident Management processes are followed for any major events in Canada.

Identify and recommend enhancements to Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs) and Application Recovery Plans (ARPs).

Coordinate the activities of business continuity and disaster recovery analysts.

Coordinate response and recovery activities with key Fidelity employees, vendors, and other internal and external stakeholders in consultation with the EMT.

Evaluate and recommend additional incident response resources (people, process, and technology), where necessary.

Coordinate post-mortems and root cause analysis after every major incident.

Recommend enhancements to the FIL Major Incident Management framework, where necessary.

Develop and maintain local enterprise resiliency policies and procedures to supplement global policies and processes.

Develop and maintain the critical incident response decision making tree.

Develop and maintain testing requirements for business continuity and disaster recovery.

Maintain current understanding of critical third-party resiliency capabilities, gaps, and strengths.

Liaise with FIL Cyber Defense Operations and Threat Intelligence teams to understand any emerging threats / risks that the organization must prepare for.

Provide ongoing training and education for the Fidelity Canada Resiliency Team on new policies and processes.

Ensure post-incident response reviews and reports are conducted on a timely basis, capturing lessons learned and improvements made to processes and playbooks.

Ensure alignment between Business Impact Analysis (BIA), BCP and DRP/ARP against existing response playbooks to various event scenarios.

Refine existing incident response playbooks and develop additional playbooks as necessary to prepare for new / emerging threats.

Conduct periodic scenario analysis tests (tabletops or simulations) of response playbooks and ensuring improvements are made based on results.

Deliver periodic training sessions and exercises for critical personnel to be aware and educated about their responsibilities within each response playbook.

We are in search of a candidate with the following
-
University Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Communications, etc.)
-
Minimum 3 years of experience working in an Incident Management or Response role.
-
Experience creating and continuously improving incident management programs and event response playbooks.
-
Experience running complex technology and operational incidents.

Strong Disaster and Application Recovery experience.
-
Banking, finance, or wealth management industry related experience.
-
Experience of using vulnerability management tooling e.g., Nexpose, Qualys, etc.

Knowledge or experience working with Clearview business continuity solution.
