Duties and Responsibilities:
Working under minimal supervision, the incumbent reports to the School Administrator and provides support to the Director/Chair(s) of the interdisciplinary programs and institutes hosted by the School of Computer Science. The incumbent is responsible for matters relating to the admission, promotion and operation of the interdisciplinary graduate programs and institutes; organizes promotional and academic events; updates websites; and reaches out and networks with related industries to promote collaboration and assist in securing industrial grants. The incumbent will also assist in the day-to-day administrative functions for the School.

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
  • Excellent knowledge of regulations throughout the university
  • Excellent understanding of procedures governing the processing of student records
  • Excellent knowledge of the overall procedures and precedents involved in academic decision making
  • Strong reliability, accuracy and attention to detail skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required in day-to-day interactions with faculty, students, university community, external industries and the general public
  • Good judgment, discretion, tact and the ability to maintain confidentiality are imperative
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
  • Completion of a university degree
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a post-secondary setting, including experience with communication, web design, event planning, as well as interdisciplinary program administration
