An amazing opportunity for a passionate IT Manager to support innovative storytelling through creator-driven animated, interactive and live action content. Under the general direction of the Dir. Production Operations, the IT Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our computer systems, software, networks and user experiences in a highly creative and unique production environment in both our Vancouver and Los Angeles offices. We are looking for someone who likes to roll-up their sleeves as this role is both a hands-on and leadership position.


  • Manage cross-site information technology and computer systems;
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations;
  • Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance;
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures;
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems;
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy;
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time;
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes;
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures;
  • Act as a main point of contact to offer technical support to all staff in the Vancouver office and assist with tickets in our LA office;
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and determine priorities;
  • Support and maintain our workstations, network infrastructure and servers;
  • Ensure network security policies are maintained;
  • Set up accounts and systems for new hires;
  • General upkeep of the server room and patch panel management;
  • Work in collaboration with other department across the Company;
  • Coordinate annual local IT budget and ensure cost effectiveness by tracking user licenses ensuring needs are aligned with production requirements/schedules;
  • Meet project and production deliverable schedules;
  • Interpret, implement, and facilitate notes and feedback from stakeholders in a timely and qualitatively acceptable way;
  • Fulfil all of duties in an efficient and diligent manner;
  • Interact respectfully and professionally with colleagues, staff members and clients;
  • Maintain the highest level of professional conduct and confidentiality; and
  • Additional duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS - Education/Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in computer systems support
  • Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Experience in Animation/VFX/Games an asset


  • Proficient in Windows and Macintosh Operating System, installation, maintenance, upgrade and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation (wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN))
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance
  • Experience with and understanding of virtualized environments
  • Ability to manage personnel
  • Ability to communicate to end users with varying understanding of computer systems and software
  • Ability to work unsupervised
