Position Summary:
The Clinical Team Lead role, is ideal for someone who is innovative in the development of internal counselling services in the agency following best practices in integrating cultural and western interventions to meet the needs of each client.

Miskanawah is embarking on an innovative journey in providing counselling services to the clients and community we serve. By providing internal counselling services we are able to stream line referrals and create accessible opportunities for community to access therapeutic supports.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide individual and group counselling for children, teens and adults
Maintain appropriate documentation
Keep updated and accurate records and statistics to meet program standards
Provide individual supervision for master’s level practicum clinicians
Collaborate with the Cultural Team to build capacity regarding Indigenous Healing and Wellness practices
Available to provide individual case consults to team as needed

Experience and Skills:
Knowledge, awareness and experience integrating culturally respectful interventions & assessment
Experience working for a Not-for-profit an asset
Motivated and takes initiative
Ability to work both as a team and independently
Knowledge in a broad range of therapies, clinical applications and documentation skills
Experiencing writing reports and utilize strong case management skills
Ability to communicate effectively
Proficient use of computers - Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
Child Intervention Check
Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and/or clinical social worker with aminimum 2-3 years’ experience in a clinical setting providing 1:1 counselling and therapeutic groups
Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Alberta College of Social Workers or with the College of Alberta Psychologists
In depth understanding of the child welfare system & history of colonization and ongoing impacts of generational trauma
Knowledge and experience in applying Trauma Informed Practice principles
Current first aid and CPR
Use of a reliable vehicle with $2,000,000 liability, permission to carry passengers and business coverage on the vehicle
Valid driver’s license and a driver’s abstract with minimal demerits
Occasional evening work is required
