Reporting to the Clinical Manager of the Kipnes Urology Centre on Level 7 of the Kaye Edmonton Clinic, the Registered Nurse – RN Case Manager, Prostate Health provides pharmacological, medical, and pre-and post-surgical support to patients and their families. This specialized nursing position requires knowledge of prostate health and oncology nursing and is responsible to accurately assess and evaluate patients within a multidisciplinary team approach to treatment. The Registered Nurse acts as a liaison between patients, physicians, and various resources in the community. The Registered Nurse is involved in and supports on-going research projects related to prostate cancer and prostate health.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Three years of recent acute care urology nursing experience, including oncology, obtained within the last 5 years, is required. Demonstration of excellent assessment, critical-thinking, problem-solving, organizational and patient care skills is required. Self-direction, adaptability and flexibility required while working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required including public speaking and teaching abilities. This position requires excellent working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office including but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook e-mail and Calendar. Physical requirements include lifting, pushing and pulling to transfer or transport patients and equipment. Extended periods of sitting, standing and walking are required.
Baccalaureate level degree in nursing preferred. Participation in Quality and Process Improvement activities is preferred. A sound working knowledge of electronic medical record systems including Connect Care, eCLINICIAN and Netcare is a definite asset.
