WHAT WE WANT – THE ROLE

The Data Analyst will work within a service-orientated, technology team to deliver a range of data related services, including data integrity and data quality assurance. The Data Analyst will also retrieve data from multiple sources and process confidential information, create and analyze report and provide end user training for data related applications;

The accountabilities include:
Acts as key resource for data integrity across the School and collaborates with other internal departments to provide training/expertise to ensure a distributed model for data usage.
Imports, cleans, transforms, validates and models data to improve data quality and to ensure the accuracy, currency and integrity of data
Identifies, analyses, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data setting
Understanding and managing data and data integrity; including creation, updates, and deletion.
Provide quality assurance of imported data.
Processing confidential data and information according to guidelines.
Produces ongoing and ad hoc reports and dashboards that identify issues, provide insight into results and outline recommendations for process improvements to resolve operational, business and system issues.
Helping develop reports and analysis.
Effectively retrieve and aggregate data from single or multiple sources
(databases, excel, csv, etc.), compile and interpret data into actionable formats.
Assistance with data exploration and analytics.
Training end users on new reports and dashboards.

WHAT YOU NEED

Post-secondary education in a related discipline, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a Data Analyst or similar role
Excel and Analytical experience (data quality experience also an asset)
Knowledge and/or exposure to SQL and Joins systems
Experience with BI tools, such as Power BI, Tableau
Experience with Blackbaud database systems is an asset.
Creative problem solver and active listener with an ability to work with stakeholders to gather requirements.
Demonstrated experience in working with relational databases: Proficient at writing SQL queries against complex databases for the purpose of data extraction.
Demonstrated advance experience in working with Excel in manipulating data.
Analyzing data and building reports to present results.
Verbal and written communication skills to prepare reports, update and brief management; provide information and explanations of a technical nature to a range of internal stakeholder
Critical-thinking skills to identify trends in data and provide insight into results and outline recommendations.
