Project/Program Overview:
We are currently hiring for a Junior System engineer in Calgary to work in our Land & Joint Division on the CNRE program. The CNRE program provides upgrades to the existing Very High Frequency (VHF) radios for Canadian Forces to enhance their tactical voice and data communications. The upgraded radios provide simultaneous voice and data communications based on Time Division Multiple Access principles with modern Type I encryption while maintaining NATO STANAG 4204 based secure legacy voice capabilities for interoperability with allied forces.

Basic Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
Review of system and subsystem requirements specifications, interface control documents, design documents and use cases
Development of system integration and verification test procedures, including configuration descriptions and expected outcomes, in accordance with the design documents and company processes
Develop test scripts for manual and automated tests
Execute test procedures to verify functional specifications and gather data on technical performance measures
Perform investigations to stress test the system components and functionalities and raise system problem reports for further analysis
Develop test plans and test reports for internal and external distribution
Participate in integrated project team activities involving representatives from system engineering, FW development, and customer teams

Job Description:
Essential Skills

Strong communications abilities, both written and verbal
Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn
Experience in systems & requirements engineering preferred
Some understanding and exposure to the product development life cycle and associated processes
Some understanding and exposure to the engineering development, system integration, testing, and qualification processes
Experience in investigating and resolving technical problems
Co-op or internship experience is desirable
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, System Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related technical/scientific degree

Experience with any of the following is an asset:
Familiarity with radios, voice/data networks, and networking protocols
Awareness of test automation principles, possesses, and applicable skills for implementation
Preference with experience in Linux, Python, Robot and Git

Familiarity with any of the following tools/applications:
LabView application development
WireShark network monitoring toolset
Code Collaborator
Enterprise Architect
Rational Team Concert (total suite)

Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
