Deh Gah Elementary and Secondary School in Fort Providence offers a diverse range of

programs to 100 students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade twelve. The school has very

close ties to its community and a strong on-the-land program. An immersion language

program is offered to students in JK to Grade three.

Available Position: High School Math/Science/Social Studies Teacher

Indeterminate

The Math/Science teacher will be a team player teaching secondary Math/Science courses and may provide in-school support for teachers with respect to math/science programming for students under the guidelines of Inclusive Schooling. The successful math/science should have a repertoire of instructional, assessment and behavioural techniques to help meet the diverse needs of all students.

Qualifications:
Must hold or be eligible for a N.W.T Professional Teaching Certificate;

Must have experience teaching Math/Science at the high school level.

Must have understanding of the inclusionary policies in the NWT;

Should have direct experience with NWT/Alberta curricula;

Should have experience teaching Math/Science or have training at the secondary level as a math/science teacher.

Should demonstrate ability to plan and provide programs and support that reflect inclusion in multi-level classrooms;

Should have direct experience with NWT curricula at the secondary level.

Should have training and experience in a cross-cultural, classroom situation;

Experience in technology.
