Electrical Estimator/Project Coordinator

We are a well-established lower mainland Electrical Contractor with 25 years in the business. We have a diverse portfolio of commercial electrical, tenant improvement projects and service work. Our success is built on lasting relationships through customer service and excellent workmanship.

We are recruiting for a qualified Electrical Estimator/Project Manager.

This position is ideal for a highly ambitious and motivated self-starter who enjoys both working with a team but also independently. Candidate must be a Journey person Electrician, organized, have proven estimating experience, a positive attitude, work well under pressure, great attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Experience with Accu-bid or Intelli-bid is an asset. A competitive wage, benefits, and profit sharing will be part of the package for the right candidate.

Responsibilities and requirements:

Review and interpret project drawings, and other related documents

Create estimates and assist with bid packages

Perform all estimating related duties including quantity take-offs, liaison with suppliers and validating supplier quotes, and preparing big packages.

Estimate preparation for costs of materials, labour, sub-trades, equipment.

Maintain and establish positive working relationships with general contractors, consultants and trade partners, and field staff.

Attend site meetings and inspections as required

Handle change orders and RFI’s during project. Prepare and distribute close-out documents.

Must be familiar with common construction documents, accounting, administration, submittals, safety procedures and estimating software. Must be computer literate. Accubid, Intelli-bid, bluebeam, Adobe, XL, Word, Outlook and Simply Accounting experience would be assets.

Communicate with office staff, field staff, management, clients, and suppliers and other trades persons in a professional and friendly manner.

Must be willing and able to develop new customers and seek new opportunities and projects requiring proposals or estimates through various mediums.
