Reporting to the Director of Therapy Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the assessments of new admissions to the 110 bed long term care home, quarterly assessments and re-assessments following a change in status of a resident. Responsibilities will also include development, implementation and evaluation of resident-focused, therapy programs to meet the needs of residents in the Hoivakoti Nursing Home.
The Physiotherapist will ensure that these programs are communicated with the Physiotherapist Assistants and that all practices are meeting required standards; maintaining a working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Long Term Care Homes Act, and other relevant legislation; as well as Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Guidelines and best practices in the industry.
The Physiotherapist must be registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, and have a license to practice as a Registered Physiotherapist (Physiotherapy Interns are also welcome to apply).
We require 8.5 hours of service per week and we are very flexible with the days and hours the candidate would like to work. This contracted service can start as soon as possible.
