Start Date: ASAP
Location: Hamilton Village - Richmond, BC.
Plans for, prepares, serves and stores menu items in accordance with the established menu. Receives and check food supplies. May provide work direction and short notice scheduling to general help staff, during managers absence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans cooking schedule and prepare meals, including diet items and texture modifications.
Adheres to menu specifications and standardized recipes, assembling ingredients for the quantities required.
Portions quantities for bulk service and plates food for Residents, Employees and Visitors.
Assist or place orders with authorized supplies.
Receives and checks supplies. Ensures storage in a safe and sanitary manner.
Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.
Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
Complete and record Quality Assurance audits as assigned.
Attends departmental staff meetings and other related training sessions.
Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

12-month Diploma from a recognized cooking school or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current and maintained Basic Food Safe Certification required at hire (Basic must be upgraded to Advanced Certification within 6 months of hire).
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
Familiar with industry’s best practices.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Important note: **A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment. Proof of immunizations and Tuberculosis Screening Test results may be required.**
