Digital Transformation, TCS is currently looking for a Senior Systems Integrator (Development Supervisor) to join its award-winning Solution Development Services team. What will you do?
Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, as a Senior Systems Integrator (Development Supervisor), you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of IT business solutions using Java, full stack development technologies, and Cloud Computing. You will also provide supervision and guidance to team members, and manage the implementation of technical solutions that support the Division's initiatives as well as:
Lead a team of development staff to provide an innovative and customer focused approach to the delivery and sustainment of IT solutions to satisfy challenging business needs
Supervise, motivate and train assigned team members, ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality and organizational performance, and continuous learning
Provide leadership in planning, application design, system performance and scalability, security and privacy, deployment, and sustainment at strategic, project and operational levels.
Lead various stages of projects, direct project team members and resources, and report progress to stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery of solutions through proper coordination, change management, resource management, budget control, quality assurance, contingency measures and risk solutions
Implement detailed plans and recommend policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements
Champion the solution architecture and application development standards and guidelines and ensures adherence to the enterprise methodologies and standards
Recommend and implement security, privacy and quality assurance requirements consistent with both the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), and corporate and legislated standards regarding the storage, processing and retention of confidential data.
methodologies, tools, techniques, technologies and standards used for applications, data management and database development
Analyze business practices, business processes and data flows, and makes recommendations to meet business objectives, including the application of information technology
Determine requirements, researches, evaluates and recommends Cloud Computing platforms, integration strategies and security management
Oversee recruitment selection, labour relations, performance appraisal, training and supervision of assigned staff
Authorize and coordinate vacation and overtime requests as well as monitor and evaluate staff performance, approve salary increments, hear grievances and recommend disciplinary action when necessary.
Work with senior management to develop feasibility studies. Prepares RFI/P/Q/R and participates in the evaluation and selection of technical solutions
Collaborate with Corporate I&T Division and other Divisional IT groups to exchange ideas and to ensure the Divisional solutions comply with enterprise architecture directions and security/privacy management guidelines
Liaise with suppliers and vendors, ensuring product availability to meet business requirements
Maintain expertise in the area of application architecture, including industry trends, strategies, and products
Inform and educate senior managers, business users and technology peers on technology trends, and the effective use of business and technology solutions and information management.
What do you need to succeed?
Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Extensive experience in system analysis, building technical environments, developing business solution, configuring software, database management, and security management.
Considerable experience in leading or supervising technical staff including the ability to coach and lead team members in achieving team goals and objectives.
Considerable experience in working and collaborating with organization's other IT groups or teams such as Enterprise Architecture, Quality Assurance, and Infrastructure and Security.
Considerable project management experience leading all stages with emphasis on financials, estimating resources, RFI/P/Q/R, contracts and specific successful project deliveries.
Extensive knowledge of methodologies, principles, practices, processes, tools and templates for customer experience mapping, business requirement gathering techniques and solution design documentation standards.
Knowledge of Agile software development and related collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
Ability to work in DevOps, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), and test automation.
Excellent communication skills to prepare and present technical materials including specifications, user requirements, project plans and to work effectively with all levels of management and staff.
Knowledge of developing, deploying, administering and managing Cloud based solutions and platforms such as AWS and Salesforce.
Advanced time management and estimation capabilities and ability to perform several tasks and projects concurrently.
Ability to work flexible hours including days, afternoons, nights and weekends, as required.
Knowledge of current and emerging technologies and skills to evaluate and recommend new technology for introduction into a complex technical environment.
Familiarity with applicable collective agreements and employment related legislation, including occupational health and safety, would be an asset.
