The Prince George Native Friendship Centre (PGNFC) delivers programs and services through a lens of reconciliation, as we have been doing since the inception of the PGNFC for the past 50+ years. Youth Care Worker(s)
(Full/Part Time and Casuals)
Are you a strong and positive role model?
Enjoy engaging youth in activities.
You can establish rapport with at-risk youth.
Enjoy providing support and direction to youth.
Do you have at least 2-years post-secondary education in a related field (Social Services, First Nations Studies, Criminology, Psychology etc.) and 1-2 years' experience working with youth; or a combination of education and experience?
Along with the willingness and ability to work in Youth Services Programs with high-risk youth; Awareness of community services, resources, and systems; Experience in working with Indigenous groups/communities in a cultural context. Completing case management and reports; providing conflict resolution support and crisis management; Supporting and advocating for client centered issues; and Coordinating internal/external resources.
Qualifications include:

Social Services Diploma or 2 years related post-secondary;

Class 5 Driver's License with willingness to obtain Class 4;

Certification: First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (NVCI, CPI) Suicide Intervention, and Food Safe; or the willingness to obtain after hire; and

Ability to undergo a successful criminal record search.
