ATCO Frontec is currently bidding on the contract to operate and maintain the Goose Bay Canadian Forces base.

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Telecommunication Information System (TIS) Manager for the pursuit of the 5 Wing Goose Bay facility services contract. The TIS Manager is responsible for all management and maintenance of the telecommunication information systems at the Goose Bay facility.

Where We Work and Live:
The Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay is a progressive community of about 8,000 residents in the heart of Labrador at the western end of Lake Melville, a salt water lake extending more than 200 kilometers inland from the Labrador Sea.

Adjacent to the town is Canadian Forces Base 5 Wing Goose Bay, which supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) operations for the projection of air power on the north and northeast coasts of Canada. It also conducts and supports a wide variety of operations, including both joint and combined training for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), our Allies and NORAD.

Responsibilities:
Managing, planning and coordinating all on-site telecommunication maintenance projects
Provides leadership and direction to staff in the implementation of work as defined in the contract documents.
Provide expert knowledge and leadership to the telecommunications team,
Management and maintenance of all telecommunications and information systems including 1st line maintenance of the cable plant.
Management and maintenance of airfield communications, radar and navigational/landing aids.
Manages all staff training and certification requirements
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have experience in managing the maintenance of telecommunication and Information systems including Navaids and cable plants on a project of similar size and scope within the last 5 years.
The successful candidate will require a degree, diploma, or training related to the position. A combination of experience and education may be considered.
PMP certification is an asset.
Previous experience working for or with the military is considered an asset.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook are essential.
