General Manager: Mercedes-Benz Canada needs fans like you

What it means to be a fan

Everything starts with fans. Mercedes-Benz Canada is the number one luxury automotive company in Canada, five years in a row. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastically devoted to Mercedes-Benz. You love our brand and have the drive to learn about the automotive industry. You’re impressed with the Mercedes-Benz legacy and can easily identify with what the star represents. And you’re eager to live Mercedes-Benz values and are ready to add to the story.

How your role will add to the story:
We’re looking for a General Manager. You will be responsible for leadership and performance of your dealership. You’ll also be accountable for achieving established performance targets and key business indicators including, but not limited to, achievement of established volume and profit targets, cost efficiency, and customer and employee satisfaction. You will report directly to the Vice President, Corporate Retail, and will also have the opportunity to work with Sales and Service Managers, General Managers and all employees within your dealership.

A day in the life:
On most days you’ll act as a mentor to the dealership management team. Lead by providing guidance, instruction and assistance in implementing and effectively carrying out approved business plans. Recruit, train, coach, develop and motivate the management team with an eye to setting individual, team and store goals and achieving volume and gross profit targets. Encourage the team to succeed by providing them with a clear understanding of what is expected of them and evaluating their performance fairly
Some days you’ll analyze sales, financial and CEI reports to understand trends, identify risks and opportunities and to implement measures as required to ensure that established targets and business objectives are met.
There’s always a chance you’ll be involved in developing an annual business plan for the dealership, constantly monitoring the dealership’s performance in relation to the plan, accurately forecasting upcoming performance, and identifying and realizing measures required to ensure that the plan is achieved. You will also oversee the implementation of group-wide marketing plans. Develop and implement dealership-specific programs and events in alignment with the wide Own Retail Group and National Wholesale activities.
