Director, Procurement – IT Technical Services

Position: Director, Procurement - IT Technical Services

Terms of Employment: Permanent / Full Time

Salary: $103,300 to $191,900 per year

Reporting to the Vice President, Procurement – Technology, the Director is responsible for leading the IT Technical Services Procurement team. The position will work closely with the IT organization, the Functional leader, and other Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents within IT. The position requires significant independent interaction with multiple levels of leadership, including Executive Leadership.

Duties:
You will lead the team responsible for the procurement of IT Technical Services;
Developing sourcing strategies and processes to ensure best service and pricing;
Working with VP, Procurement Technology and IT VPs to consult on critical sourcing and spending decisions for IT Technical Services Categories;
Leading key cost reduction initiatives that focus on working capital improvement;
Partnering with business to reduce financial and contractual risks and hold large suppliers accountable to SLA terms;
Optimizing cost and cash flow, and deliver agreed annual savings targets against managed spend;
Supporting timely decision making on large contracts including participation in key negotiations;
Identifying cross-company synergies to ensure maximum leverage with suppliers;
Promoting innovation, participate in joint research and development to pilot and bring new ideas forward with the business;
Partnering with legal to improve terms and conditions of contracts;
Partnering with Finance to review, rationalize and consolidate cost saving policies; and
Supporting Internal Audit and Corp. Investigations on key initiatives.

Requirements:
Strong executive presence with a demonstrated ability to navigate difficult situations through relationship building and influencing others;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; a demonstrated collaborator;
Ability to develop, track and monitor the execution of multiple initiatives at a time in a fluid energizing environment with varying priorities;
Proven track record of transforming IT Procurement teams with a specialization in Technical Services, IT Managed Services or IT Professional Service contracts;
Strategic thinker who can develop and implement creative negotiation strategies;
Track record of managing the procurement of large transformations within an IT BSS/CRM context;
History of driving change through procurement organizations and the educating business partners as a change agent;
Global Industry experience with a Tier One Carrier – 7-10 years of IT Procurement & 5+ years Telecom Procurement;
Scope/category experience – insight in each of the key category areas with particular experience in Telecom and IT;
Ability to create relationships and influence without direct authority; and
Lead multiple teams and delivering multiple priorities in a complex business environment.
