General Purpose:
This position will assist the Economic Development and Tourism division in managing all social medial platforms and growing the audience of all Economic Development and Tourism social media channels.

Primary Responsibilities/Job Duties:
Provide programming support for all social media platforms belonging to the Economic Development and Tourism Division. Track relevant analytics and respond to real-time engagement trends
Primarily this role involves the acquiring of pertinent and appropriate positive and interesting marketable information, photographs and stories that would be used to promote the County of Brant using social media.
Actively engage the existing audience/market following the social media channels of the department by posting both real-time and pre-programmed posts.
Assist with the growth of the social media audiences of the departments by effectively implementing new engagement tactics.
Schedule data surveys to appropriate social media channels and the correlation of survey data and analytics will also be required.
Work with Research and Marketing Economic Development Officer on new engagement tactics and explore new forms of media to communicate messaging

Knowledge/Skills Required:
Must have extensive knowledge and experience with social media engagement including specifically with the platforms of: Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.
Clear and concise communication skills.
Knowledge and experience in using effective social media tagging techniques.
Knowledge of the County of Brant and it’s major visitor assets, destinations and special events would be considered an asset.
Must be flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Familiarity with survey data gathering tools, would be considered an asset.


Enrolled in a post secondary school, majoring in Marketing, Tourism, Commerce or Communications.
Valid Driver’s License and use of a vehicle, and Acceptable Driver’s Abstract required
Police Records Check required

Other requirements:
Must demonstrate knowledge of the highest standards in social media etiquette.
