Sunderland Co-operative Inc. is a progressive multi-service agricultural supply business. We are currently seeking a Livestock Feed Account Sales Representative.
Your proven ability to sell, consult with farmers, and utilize organizational and interpersonal skills are a definite requirement. As a feed sales representative, you are responsible for the sale of livestock feed to livestock production facilities and local producers. Job responsibilities of a feed sales representative include selling livestock feed products to clients, locating and developing relationships with new clients, marketing feed products to current and potential clients, maintaining knowledge of feed industry and new products and procedures, educating clients on the benefits of specific types of feed, and maintaining records of business transactions. You will have strong technical knowledge in all aspects of livestock production and perform a consultative sales and service function to livestock producers within the Co-operative’s trading area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Achieve objective(s) and plan(s) for assigned area as laid out by the Livestock Feed Sales Manager.
Selling livestock feed products to clients in Dairy, Beef, Poultry, Goat and Sheep Operations
Actively selling and make recommendations, to establish livestock accounts and develop new prospective customers.
Maintains territory records and reports as directed by the Feed Division Manager within company policy.
Adheres to Company policies in all areas, e.g.: safety, credit, proper management of assets, pricing, uniforms, etc.
Must be familiar with livestock farming, feed facilities, and some equipment (manufacturing and delivery).
Work with suppliers and producers to establish formulations of feed products.
Contributes to the safe and efficient operation of the location.
Communicate professionally, effectively, and courteously with customers and co-workers.
Understand and follow Sunderland Co-operative Inc., health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Actively participates in education and training provided by Sunderland Co-operative Inc.to refine livestock feed knowledge and consulting and selling skills.
Promotes Sunderland Co-operative Inc., products & services through sales presentation and seminars.
Must have or be able to obtain various licenses, permits and/or certificates as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Demonstrated knowledge of livestock feed for Dairy, Beef, Poultry, Goat or Sheep.
You have a degree or diploma in agriculture and/or related agricultural experience.
Experience analyzing feed rations and consulting clientele on improved formulation, assist farmers in reaching production goals, and record data of transactions
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with customers and staff.
Concentration while driving.
Strong communication skills while dealing with customers and employees.
Focus on assisting Farmers in achieving their production goals through improved stewardship and effective ration planning
Capable of networking and developing leads within the community
Desire to succeed

Occasional periods of walking large areas.
