We are looking for a Senior Advisor, to support our Human Resources (HR) Branch. The Senior Advisor would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
The Senior Advisor is part of a team of human resources (HR) practitioners responsible for the development and delivery of a broad range of HR programs that address strategic priorities and help shape the NRC as an employer and workplace.
In this role, you will help contribute to a diverse and inclusive NRC and Canadian innovation system. You will lead and support the implementation and renewal of the NRC’s EDI strategy and help implement initiatives to attract and retain a diverse and representative workforce, identify and remove barriers to working and engaging with the NRC, and foster an inclusive culture and work environment. As part of this role, you will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, foster networks within the federal public service and broader EDI community, and take steps to bring leading edge, best practices to your work.

University degree from a recognized institution in human resources management, business administration or a related field.

Experience managing organization-wide human resources programs, projects or initiatives
Experience developing tools and/or approaches for broader roll-out and adoption throughout an organization
Experience providing advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Experience implementing strategies and programs designed to foster a diverse and representative workforce and inclusive work environment would be considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of experience, education, training and/or experience may be accepted.

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:
Knowledge of progressive EDI strategies, practices and approaches particularly as related to the recruitment and retention of employment equity groups including women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities and visible minorities.
Knowledge of legislation and frameworks governing EDI in the federal public service including the Employment Equity, Official Languages, Accessible Canada and Canadian Human Rights Acts.
Effective research and writing skills with an ability to analyze and synthesize information, provide sound recommendations, and produce high quality written products.
Ability to establish and nurture collaborative working relationships.
Ability to manage projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and dependencies.

For this position, the NRC will evaluate candidates using the following competency profile(s): Management Services and Supervisor.
Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.
From $97,077 to $108,405 per annum.
In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
A pre-qualified list may be established for similar positions for a one year period.
