FuseSocial is a social profit agency located in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and its mission is that social profit strengthen communities and we help strengthen social profits. We strengthen social profits through education, development, innovation and collaboration opportunities that are accessible and relevant.

FuseSocial has developed a shared service model for the social profit sector of Wood Buffalo that incorporates a mixture of staff supported services and consultant support services. One of the services provided is Marketing and Communication support.

Position Title: Marketing and Communication Specialist

Reporting to:

Operations Director


This is a permanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week

Salary: $36.87- $40.87 per hour based on experience

The Role:

The FuseSocial Shared Services Marketing and Communication Specialist will be responsible for working with assigned community benefit agencies to provide in-depth expertise and execution in Marketing and Communication, inclusive of design, advertising, brand development, website development, marketing plan development, communications plan development, media relations support, and social media support.

In order to be effective in this role, you will have a proven track record of fostering and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with operational leaders and organizations networks. You are adaptable with the ability to prioritize, multitask while working effectively independently and in collaboration with others in a fast paced and progressive environment. You will identify client needs, assess requirements and complete their solutions to non-standard issues and requests.

Your Qualifications:

  • University degree in communications, journalism, marketing or public relations
  • Minimum 4 years experience in the communications and marketing field
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic communications, marketing planning and implementation
  • Ability to translate complex content and information concepts into clear, concise and impactful communications; experience writing for all mediums including print, web, social and digital
  • Comfortable working with multiple teams to develop effective campaigns, manage multiple project timelines and facilitate client feedback
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and listening skills; sound judgement with exceptional ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • High level of problem solving and interpersonal skills, including strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure and on varying projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to use discretion with confidential material; a high level of tact, diplomacy, professionalism and a strong work ethic are required
  • Ability to work independently but also collaboratively with others
  • You will take on a broad range of marketing and communications responsibilities, including providing strategic and completion of external marketing and communications to numerous organizations
  • You are a passionate, confident, motivated, high-performing individual who can carry out multiple assignments concurrently with strong attention to detail
  • Must possess and maintain an Alberta class 5 driver’s license, own a registered motor vehicle and provide a valid copy of registration and insurance
  • Must complete a criminal record check after hire

Demonstrated ability to facilitate change and comfortable managing in ambiguity. A strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Experience in managing projects of different scope, magnitude and significance.
