The Opportunity:
As part of the Resource Staff Team the Camp Coordinator will work with Camp Management in day to day office and administrative duties, organizing and participating in camp activities, managing camp communications and record keeping.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular camp office hours
- Work with Marketing Department to manage Glenburn social media and ensure weekly posts and communications
- Responsible for management of staff schedules.
- Responsible for managing Camp communications, including e-mail and phone as well as addressing parents concern in a timely and professional manner.
- Camper Communication: Ensure all mail and emails from parents are delivered to campers in on time
- Responsible for keeping records of staff and camper information.
- Responsible for managing camp lost and found. Work with Camp team to ensure no items are left behind and develop process weekly clean up, storage and communication of anything left behind.
- As a member of the Camp Glenburn Staff Team, the Camp Coordinator will be a positive role model for fellow staff, C.I.T's and campers in every aspect of camp life, being conscious of health, dress, speech, etiquette and relations with others.
- Assist in managing staff paperwork and other administrative duties.
- To assist in other Camp operations as requested by the Camp Director.
- To submit a final report to the Camp Director prior to the completion of the tenure.
- Understands and complies with Child Protection Practices.
- To strive to ensure that every child who attends Camp Glenburn is treated with respect, understanding and compassion.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ongoing or completed Bachelor's Degree, Community College diploma or similar from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience in a Day Camp or Youth Program setting.
- Certification considered an asset: NLS , Waterfront Certification, Pleasure Craft Operator
- Mental Health First Aid Training or equivalent considered an asset.
- Valid Drivers License is an asset
- Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, site locations.
- Strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.
- An excellent team player able to share cooperative leadership with other staff.
- Strong communication, organizational, customer service skills, a team player.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
