New Path Youth and Family Counselling Services of Simcoe County is an accredited children’s mental health centre providing a range of compassionate, innovative and accessible services for children, youth and their families throughout Simcoe County. We are currently looking for a dynamic, well-rounded, and hands on Manager of Human Resources to join our team.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager of Human Resources is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership and guidance on HR related activities including:

  • Administer, review and provide recommendations on human resources plans and programs to ensure organizational effectiveness and alignment to agency goals and objectives
  • Participate in, implement and support key initiatives of the organization through processes and practices, as well as decision-making
  • Ensure human resources policies and procedures, legislative requirements, as well as collective agreement provisions are appropriately implemented, interpreted and applied
  • Assist in the preparation and representation of grievance hearings, conflict resolution, and collective bargaining
  • Provide recruitment support and implement strategies to attract, retain and develop talent
  • Facilitate and manage the Benefits and Pension programs
  • Facilitate resolution of issues by providing professional and strategic advice, coaching, and counseling to the management team and employees
  • Promote a positive work environment by building and maintaining strong relationships with management, employees and union representatives
  • Maintain effective internal and external employee communications
  • Serve as a member on the Joint Health and Safety Committee to ensure consistency and ensure delivery of occupational health and safety training to new hires
  • Compile statistical reports and metrics concerning personnel-related data such as turnover, absenteeism, cost per hire, grievances resolution, etc.
  • Assist in any agency investigations and reporting of accidents
  • Prepare and adhere to budgets
  • Provided leadership for special HR projects and assume other duties as assigned
  • Actively participates in and support the Leadership Team, Clinical Management Team, Clinical Planning Team and Board of Directors as required
  • Participates in an annual performance evaluation and developmental review
  • Supervise HR staff, students and other staff as required
  • Represent New Path in the community through leading or participating in training or workshops which encompass best practices


  • University degree in Human Resources and/or Labour Relations
  • HR Professional designation an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of strong generalist experience in human resources management with labor relations focus
  • Solid understanding of applicable employment, labour relations, and human rights legislation and regulations
  • Demonstrated business acumen while strategically assessing business needs from an HR perspective
  • Excellent critical thinking and leadership skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Highly developed analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Self-motivated with attention to details, accuracy and quality
  • Ability to work autonomously but also part of a team
  • Ability to develop relationships and work collaboratively with all levels of the organization, bargaining unit representatives and external stakeholders
  • Experience as a Joint Health and Safety Committee member an asset
  • Ability to identify organizational needs and to conceptualize, initiate, coordinate and manage the implementation of solutions in response to the needs
  • Demonstrated ability to identify trends and best practices
  • Not-for-profit and mental health industry experience an asset
  • Fluency in French as asset
  • Ability to work flexible hours, have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
