The Senior Advisor reports to the Manager, Employee and Leadership Development, and will provide expert program design, consultation, development and implementation in support of the Talent Management Strategies’ (TMS) vision to attract, develop, advance and sustain a capable and engaged workforce. As the Senior Advisor, you have practical expertise in instructional design, graphic design and modern learning environments. To be successful you will combine your practical experience and academic knowledge in the planning and design of learning solutions using various methodologies and modalities. You will act as a design lead and project contributor for functional teams and establish strategic relationships within and outside the organization to create learning solutions, programs and products. You will be expected to continually enhance your knowledge through ongoing research in your specialty areas, and determine current trends and leading practices that provide leaders and employees with the best solutions to suit their development needs. As an adult learning professional, you will bring a comprehensive knowledge of adult learning principles, employee and leadership development, consultation, evaluation, research, and project management skills to the role. You must be able to demonstrate your internal consultation skills to work effectively with stakeholders and partners across the province to determine learning needs and achieve development and organizational goals. The Instructional Designer must be able to advise and practically apply knowledge about instructional practices, learning outcomes, development time, delivery modes, technologies available and learning readiness of employees. Experience with web-based animation, eLearning and multi-modality content creation is required, specifically using Adobe Captivate.

A degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Adult Education or a related field. A minimum of 3-5 years leading the design, development and delivery of blended learning solutions for the organization. Experience with application of adult learning principles and appropriate instructional models, theories and best practices when designing, developing and evaluating eLearning and blended learning solutions. Ability to apply project management principles to design and develop learning strategies and solutions. Experience conducting needs assessment and evaluation of training needs. Experience using authoring, design and publishing software primarily Adobe Captivate, possibly Articulate Storyline and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with research, analysis and integration of appropriate graphic elements in order to support identified instructional strategy and desired outcomes. 2+ years developing creative SCORM compliant eLearning solutions. 2+ years in graphic design; knowledge of graphic design principles, layouts, color theory, user experience design. Experience with a Learning Management System functionality and requirements.
Additional Required Qualifications:
