JOB SUMMARY:

Aphria is currently searching for a well-versed Manager of Tax Accounting that will lead our Finance team to success. We are looking for someone who is passionate, dynamic, and adaptable to an ever-changing environment. At Aphria, we are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our patients and consumers. The Tax Manager will ensure compliance with the Company’s income and commodity tax filings, providing audit support and assisting with various other tax projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITES:

  • Quarterly and annual tax provisions;
  • Coordinate tax audits with authorities;
  • Support Canadian operations in determining significant tax impacts on projects contemplated both in Canada, US and abroad;
  • Provide tax support for acquisitions and restructurings;
  • Resource for overall tax compliance;
  • Keeps track of changes to existing tax laws and regulations;
  • Provide management and technical leadership on tax matters;
  • Manage the development of contemporaneous documentation to satisfy Canadian and foreign transfer pricing rules; and,
  • Other duties as assigned/required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA (CA, CMA or CGA) with 4-7 years’ experience in large company/public accounting firm;
  • Completion of CICA In-Depth Tax Courses Level I and II;
  • Strong tax provision experience;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and business acumen;
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; and,
  • International tax experience is a benefit.
