PROJECT MANAGER – INJECTION MOLDS- Precision Plastic Injection Moulding

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

As a member of the Project Management Team ensure all projects are on time and meet customer requirements. Planning and monitoring new moulds to be manufactured as well as any engineering changes that may be required to new and existing moulds.
Maintains clear communication to customers and subcontractors during manufacturing of new and/or modified moulds.
Quotes new and/or modified moulds and tool corrections and product pricing. Plans and hosts biweekly project review meetings. Follows and implements all respective quality procedures during the project management phase.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quoting of new moulds and products to customer.

Quoting of modified tools and / or tool corrections.

Subcontracting of new moulds to be manufactured.
Ensures that any modifications that could affect the subcontractor is completed (fixtures, processes, etc.).

Monitor the manufacturing of subcontracted work.
Assist in the design, approval and verification of the design of new moulds and/or tool modifications or tool corrections.

Implement engineering changes.

Participates to the weekly engineering meeting to update the project team on engineering changes and new projects.
Purchasing of Tooling and Tool Services.
Receiving Inspection for the new tooling and and/or tool revisions (Master Tool Files).
Ensures that the customer PO is received and closed out for new and / or modified tooling.

Ensures management of invoicing and payments for new tools and tool corrections/ modifications.
Complete AQP (Advanced Quality Planning) meeting within 2 weeks of acceptance of customer PO.

Participates at Engineering close out meeting including sign off before transfer of project to production department.

Experience:

  • in plastics, supplying the automotive industry: 3 years (Required)
  • precision plastic injection moulding: 3 years (Required)
  • Quality Automotive Tools;APQP,PPAP,FMEA,SPC,CSR: 3 years (Required)
  • Project Management: 3 years (Required)
  • solid modeling computer-aided design using Solid Works: 3 years (Required)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
