GEM Health Care Group is a leader in providing quality health care living options to seniors in Nova Scotia. GEM designs, constructs and operates Long Term Care, Residential Care and Independent Living facilities and takes pride in the high level of care that is administered under their direction.

  • Experience working with seniors an asset to respond to the needs of our residents in a compassionate manner
  • Work as a team member
  • Criminal record and vulnerable sector check required
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound command of standard computer programs (Word, Excel)
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Experience with administrative and clerical procedures


  • Responsible for the efficient operation of the reception area to maintain a feeling of security and comfort for the residents
  • Greet and direct visitors to the appropriate person and/or office
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming calls
  • Receive, sort and distribute mail/deliveries
  • Order office supplies and keep an inventory of stock.
  • Update calendars and schedule meetings
  • Perform clerical duties: filing, photocopying, scanning and faxing
  • Draft business letters, memos, correspondences, faxes and forms
  • Keep track of new projects
  • Liaise with executives and directors to handle requests and queries from our facilities personnel
  • and other duties as requested
